Star Wars Jedi Survivor Derelict Dam Tar Pit Roller Mine Puzzle Guide

Making your way through the Gorge Crash Site area of ​​the Koboh Planet in Star Wars Jedi Survivoreventually you will come across the Derelict Dam, an area with lots of collectibles, obstacles and some puzzles.

You will first reach the Derelict Dam while working on the Find Greez Main goal. At first glance it can be overwhelming with so many blocked and hidden paths.

Also, you’ll find that the area, as the name suggests, features a tar-filled dilapidated causeway that you have to cross to reach the wild creature.

Where can I find the Derelict Tar Pit Dam Mine Puzzle?

As you can see on the map below, the Derelict Dam Tar Pit is near the meditation point, near the wild creature that we marked with a beacon earlier.

The main goal here is to find a way to reach the other side of the tar pit and get close to the giant wild creature. Let’s see the solution to the ruined dam puzzle.

How to solve Tar Pit Roller Mine puzzle on Koboh

After reaching the meditation point in the abandoned dam, follow the path leading to the giant ferocious creature you marked on the map to reach the crumbling dam wall.

To advance further, jump onto the first platform in the tar pit and then use the climb cable by pressing / to pull oneself to the vines on the left and climb up.

Deal with the two enemies at the top and take the path down to reach a cave entrance guarded by a few more enemies.

Near the cave entrance, you can pick up one of the database entries available in Derelict Dam.

Climb through the cave on the ledge ahead, take out the few enemies, and go through the hole in the floor to reach one of the ruined Dam chests.

From the chest, continue down the corridor until you see a red flashing terminal. Press /down to command your BD-1 droid to interact with it.

After you interact with the terminal, the circle area will continue to spawn Roller Mines, a droid that can track you and explode on impact. We will use them to release blockages and create new paths.

Now after you see a reel mine spawn you can hold / to grab them with the Force and push them into objects by pressing /. Remember that you can hold it for a few seconds before it explodes.

Let’s start by destroying the nearby glowing wall by pushing a roller mine into it. This will create an exit back to the Crumbling Wall Dam.

You will also notice that when a Roller Mine is tracking you, it will be marked with a different color by a laser.

Blue means the roller mine is aiming at you, yellow means it’s tracking you at a safe distance, and red means it’s about to explode in a few seconds.

Have a roller mine follow you out of the cave and hold onto it / and throw it by pressing / into the glowing stalactites to uncover them and build a small bridge to the dam edge.

Once again, have another rolling mine follow you around the edge of the causeway using the newly created bridge, grab it and throw it into the causeway of the crumbling wall as before.

This will increase the tar level in this pit, allowing you to use the platforms to get to the other side and meet the huge wild creature.
