At the beginning of your adventure in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdomyou are on the Great Sky Island, a floating island above the Kingdom of Hyrule.
Upon landing on Great Sky Island, you’ll meet a Steward Construct who will present you with the Purah Pad, Princess Zelda’s budget-priced device. The device allows you to view the character profiles, adventure log, album, as well as the map.
At the start of the game, you can open the Great Sky Island map to view the topography and any landmarks and shrines you discover.
But once you leave the Great Sky Isle and reach the Kingdom of Hyrule, you’ll find the map is huge, sprawling, and obscured by a fog of war.
Fortunately, there is a way to unlock the entire map and in the guide below we provide you with all the information on how to unlock the entire map Legend of Zelda ToTK.
How to reveal the legend of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom map
If you try to open the door to the Temple of Time, you will encounter Rauru, the source of the Right Arm. Unfortunately, the arm could no longer open the door.
But there is a way to restore its power, and Rauru recommends visiting the following Great Sky Island shrines:
Once you’ve completed all three shrines on the Island of Big Sky, you’ll need to complete another shrine, known as the Nachoyah Shrine, to open the door at the back of the temple.
During this objective, you unlock the fast travel option, which allows you to travel to specific locations instantly.
After touching the light in the Temple of Time and hearing Princess Zelda say, “Link, you have to find me.”it’s time to dive from the Great Sky Island to reach the Kingdom of Hyrule.
Then follow the objective marker on the mini-map to Lookout Landing to meet Purah, the director of Lookout Landing and inventor of Purah Pad.
She will ask you to find Hoz, the captain in charge of finding Princess Zelda, during the time below Hyrule Castle Crisis at Hyrule Castle main task.
After meeting Captain Hoz, your conversation is interrupted by Princess Zelda, who appears in the distance, then turns to light and flies away.
Return to Purah, and once you tell her that Princess Zelda has come to light in Hyrule Castle, she urges you to expand your quest to other areas of Hyrule that are also affected by the upheaval.
Purah would like to mark these locations on your map, but you must first add some map data to your Purah Pad. For this you need to visit the Skyview Towers surrounding the Kingdom of Hyrule.
With the Skyview Towers you can survey the area and the Purah Pad scans the topography directly on the map.
During this conversation with Purah, you will unlock the paraglider, which will allow you to ride the wind and glide through the sky.
Enter the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower, step into the blue circle and press (A) shot high into the sky where you scan nearby terrain from the air.
Then the map data will be added to your Purah Pad showing the topography of Central Hyrule.
To reveal the whole Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom On the map, you must visit all of the remaining Skyview Towers around the Kingdom of Hyrule.
