Hogwarts legacy Clagmar Coast Merlin Trials are mandatory to get 100% completion in the southernmost area and get one step closer to unlocking Merlin’s beard! Trophy/Achievement.
Solving Merlin Trials also completes challenges, which in turn reward you with upgrades to the size of your inventory.
However, before you can solve Merlin Trials, you must first complete the Trials of Merlin main quest and then get some Mallowsweet Leaves for your inventory.
The leaves can be grown in the Room of Requirement provided you have already purchased the Mallowsweet Seed recipe from the Magic Neep Shop in Hogsmeade.

Hogwarts Legacy Clagmar Coast Merlin Trials Locations Map
To begin the puzzles you must first know where the Merlin Trials altars are located in the Clagmar Coast region. So we’ve marked their locations on the next map.
To continue, let’s go through each Merlin Trial in the same order as on the previous map.
Merlin Trial #1: Next to a big tree
The first Hogwarts legacy Clagmar Coast Merlin Trial Altar is next to a large tree on the north side of the area.
When you get to the first location marked on our map, start the trial by interacting with the altar, then look for three stones with diamond-shaped holes.
The stones are very close to the altar, and casting Revelio will highlight them.
Now look for three groups of green fireflies that you have to bring to the stones to solve the puzzle.
A group of fireflies can be found next to the wooden platform to the southwest of the altar, another to the southeast, and the last one to the north.
To get the fireflies to follow you, cast Lumos near them. So drop down and collect all the fireflies. Then go to the wooden platform from earlier.
Next, throw Depulso while aiming at the mechanism next to the platform, then quickly throw Lumos again for the fireflies and climb onto the platform, which is actually an elevator that will take you back to the altar.
Go to each stone to place the fireflies and the puzzle is solved.
Merlin Trial #2: On a beach
Second Hogwarts legacy Clagmar Coast Merlin Trial, you must travel fast travel to the South Clagmar Coast Floo Flame.
You can find the altar on the beach next to the fast travel point.
Once you’ve started the exam, go to the nearby dock and head south.
When you reach the end of the dock, look south to see the remains of two stone statues.
Now cast Reparo while aiming at each cairn to repair the two statues.
If you look to the west, you will see a third cairn that you also need to use Reparo on.
After you repair all three statues, the trial is complete.
Merlin Trial #3: In a puddle
Clagmar Coast Merlin Trial #3 can be solved east of the previous altar at the third location marked on the map above.
When you reach the spot you will see Altar #3 in a puddle and you need to interact with it then look for five stones that will be highlighted when you cast Revelio.
To see all of the stones, we recommend you mount your broomstick and position yourself over the giant skeleton to the southeast of the altar, as shown in the next image.
Now, to solve the puzzle, you must destroy all five rocks using the Confringo spell, which you can easily do now that you know the location of the rocks.
Merlin Trial #4: Near some haystacks
The next Hogwarts legacy Clagmar Coast Merlin Trial Altar takes you northeast of Merlin Trial Altar #3.
Look for the fourth Altar of the Merlin Trial near some haystacks at the location indicated on our map.
Then start the rehearsal and throw Revelio south to pop nine orbs, each one sitting on a pillar.
Destroy all nine balls with basic attacks to solve the puzzle.
Merlin Trial #5: Near some ruins
Finally, the final altar of the Merlin Trial is on the Clagmar Coast near some ruins east of the Clagmar Castle Floo Flame.
Once you find the altar you can start the trial and look nearby for three stones that will be highlighted when you cast Revelio. Note that each stone consists of two parts.
For the last puzzle, you need to use the Flipendo spell to flip the top pieces of the bricks so that the symbols on them match those on the bottom pieces.
It’s important to realize that the way the top pieces rotate is entirely dependent on your position relative to them when you cast Flipendo.
Therefore, choose one of the stones and practice on it with Flipendo to better understand how it works.
