elden ring Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs is an optional dungeon in the Mountaintops of the Giants region and home to the Ulcerated Tree Spirit boss.
Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs can be confusing at first due to the repeating identical room groups and multiple elevators inside.
In this guide we will show you how to get through the mountaintop catacombs of the giants, collect all the loot and open the boss room doors.
Location of the Elden Ring Giants Pinnacle Catacombs – Where to find
The Giant’s Pinnacle Catacombs are located in the Giant’s Pinnacle region in the video game developed by FromSoftware.

Once you reach the Giants’ Peaks region, proceed through the linear section of the area until you reach the Zamor Ruins Site of Grace.
From here, head west and follow the path north until you reach a narrow path surrounded by enemies of the Fire Monks.
Look to your right for a drop off that descends to the side of this area.
At the bottom of the slope is the entrance to the Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs.

After opening the door, go inside and activate the Place of Grace to begin.
Location of the Catacombs on the Mountaintop of the Giants – How to Navigate
From the Site of Grace, head down the two flights of stairs and you’ll come across a goblin hanging on the far wall, ready to pounce on you.
Another goblin will be on the wall in the chamber ahead, and a second one will ambush you from the right after you enter.
Collect the Grave’s Mittweed [7]then turn around and go left.
After defeating two more goblins, one directly in front of you and the other hanging from the ceiling ready for an ambush, you’ll find an elevator that will take you down.
When you get to the bottom, pull the lever in the corner and wait for the elevator to get to the top.
The elevator has another platform with arches around it that you can use to access a secret area of the catacombs.

Take the elevator down to reach the lowest level of Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs.
In the next room you will encounter an Imp and Lesser Burial Watchdog wielding a staff.
Once you take them out you’ll find a Ghost Glovewort [8] collect under the stairs.
Head into the next room and you’ll see a statue that emits frostbite-causing breath as soon as you set foot in the corridor.

You can disable the Frost Breathing Statue by hitting it with a ranged attack (such as bows, daggers, or sorcery) or a melee attack once you get close to it.
If you can’t disable it with a ranged attack, take cover from the Frost Breath in the corridor on the left and avoid stepping on the pressure plate there.
Once you disable the trap, collect the Grave Glovewort [8] in the cul-de-sac at the end of the left corridor while being ambushed by two goblins.
Use the pressure plate trap to kill both kobolds with the trap’s frostbite projectiles.

In the next corridor, past the deactivated Frost-Breathing Statue, there is another one at its end that you can also deactivate.
This time the corridor that used to serve as cover is hidden on the right, behind an illusory wall that you have to hit to reveal it. Be careful of the goblin hiding inside.

Behind the freeze-breathing statue trap, this time you’ll encounter another Lesser Burial Watchdog wielding a sword. To defeat him, you should use the statue trap to your advantage.
Once you’re done, there’s a chest with the Fire Monk Ashes behind its original location.
Since this secret area is a dead end, go back to the elevator and take it until you see the locked doors to the boss’s room.
At these locked doors, turn left, kill the three imps in the next room, and take the elevator down.
You will reach a room with a green statue and a Giant Living Jar that you must defeat.

Also look out for the small living jars on the way into the Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs.
Go through the west corridor and be careful of the pressure-coated arrow trap halfway down the corridor.

In the next room you will find several guillotines and exploding living jars.
Head through the room and turn left to reach a section full of Land Squirt enemies.
Run past them until you reach a dead end room with a Great Living Jar to defeat and a Grave Glovewort [7] collect.
Next to the pressure plate trap in the room in front of it, you’ll see a small alcove that you can use to fall into the next area.

Loot the corpse hanging on the edge of the ground to get a nascent butterfly.
Below this floor you will see another square room with the same green statue filled with exploding living jars.
Take the corridor west, then pass through the guillotines to find another Giant Living Jar to defeat and a Ghost Glovewort [8] collect.
Head up the stairs, past the Land Squirt enemies including a Giant, until you reach the same dead end room with another Giant Living Jar and a Grave Glovewort to defeat [7] collect.
Also, again, watch out for the pressure plate trap in the middle of the room (not like me).
Go through the small alcove and drop down the multiple ledges.

Now you have returned to the second square room with the green statue after walking a small circle.
Once you are in front of the green statue, go through the north corridor and take the elevator upstairs.
Eliminate the three imps in the following room, one on the right wall, one on the left wall and the last imp on the ceiling before starting the fight with the sword-wielding Lesser Burial Watchdog.

After taking them out, loot the corpse to get 5x Root Sap and collect Grave’s Cloveweed [9].
Now return to the elevator and take it down.
Pull the lever to send the elevator up and you’ll see a Giant Living Jar at the bottom of the hole and a couple more holes in the room that you can easily fall into.

Jump down and go through the south corridor before fighting the Giant Living Jar to avoid being knocked off the platform through the holes.
If you go through the corridor you will reach the second floor of the first square room with the green statue.
Here you will find some small living jars, a corpse that you can loot to get a golden rune [10]and the lever you must pull to open the boss’s heavy locked doors.
After pulling the lever, drop down and go through the north corridor until you reach the elevator.
Make sure the platform is the one without the arches. If this happens, pull the lever to bring the platform without the arches so you can get back up and reach the Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs boss chamber.
Location of the Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs – Boss fight
The boss of the Giants’ Mountaintop Catacombs is the Ulcerated Tree Spirit, identical to the one found in the Fringefolk Hero’s Grave Dungeon.

After defeating the Festered Tree Spirit, you will receive 48,000 Runes, a Golden Seed, and the Glove Picker’s Bell Storage [2].
There’s also a chest in the boss room that contains a Death Root that you can give to Gurranq, the Bestial Clergyman in Bestial Sanctum, in exchange for one of his valuable items.
